Olympiastadium Swimming Pool
_________
This was where the 1936 Olympic swimming events were held. I don't know what it is about this pool area - but it seems very eerie.
Zum Olympia-Stadion
With the World Cup now in day 2 - I'm starting to have a feeling I won't be getting much done in the next win. This was shot the same day as yesterday's photo from inside the stadium. Sometimes I like to include Google street view in my posts to give an idea of the surroundings just outside of the frame. Berlin doesn't have this - so here's the next best thing.
World Cup 2006 Final Seating
__________
This is the stadium where the final of the 2006 World Cup took place in Germany. I visited the Olympiastadion in 2008 and must say it has to be one of my favourite stadiums. Clearly I have posted this image today because it is the start of the 2010 World Cup, and you can be assured I will be watching the first match. The Toronto Star has great local coverage of the matches with kickoff times in EST. It will be interesting to see all the new elite stadiums.

Olympiastadion, Berlin. August 2008.
_________
This is Berlin's Olympic Stadium - which once hosted the 1936 Olympic Games while Hitler was in power. It's by far the most interesting/historic stadium I've ever been too.
A few months ago, my hard drive came crashing to the ground - needless to say it is now history. Although it has set me back in many ways; I feel like I have a fresh start. A new start without any preconceptions that I've built for myself in what a photograph should or shouldn't have. It's made me re-evaluate the entire photography game, which I think is ultimately a good thing. For example, this photo, although two years old, never got posted because of the truck to the left. Thanks to a friend I was able to recover some smaller res .jpgs which I had given to him just after the trip. This is where I rediscovered this photo. Thanks to another friend, I now have images from my trips to Europe in 2007/2009 as well.
